PYTHON
Python - High level programming language
Python can run on the following OS: Windows, macOS, Linux/Unix, Android etc.
A Python library (module) is a reusable chunk/bundle of code that can be included in your various coding/projects.
1. Library - NumPy
Used for fast and efficient numerical computation, with its strength in working with arrays. Arrays can contain integers, floats, strings and complex numbers.
Code
>>> import numpy as np
>>> ar = np.array([[1, 2, 3], [4, 5, 6]])
>>> print(ar)
Now for instance we can claculate the square root (as one of many options) of each element for all the data on the same time.
Code
>>> print(np.sqrt(ar))
2. Library - pandas
Used to read in data from a file (ie. excel file), exploratory data analysis and visualizations, manipulate data, calculate statistics etc..
Code
>>> import pandas as pd
>>> df = pd.read_excel('grades.xlsx', index_col='name')
>>> print(df)
Math English Chemistry
Name
John 78 89 69
Mark 68 90 86
Now the average grade can be calculated
Code
>>> print(df.mean(axis=1))
Name
John 78.67
Mark 81.34
